Recently, I asked God for more insight on the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil, specifically, why was this tree even in the Garden of Eden if it wasn’t to be eaten from? The Lord responded:
“In your life today, you have choices, I don’t make you come to me, even though I died for your sin, you have the choice to come to Me.
He said: I don’t want to make you love me. I want to give you choices.
He said: who wants a husband who’s just made to love you or a wife who’s made to love you.
It wouldn’t be very good, would it?
He said: I want you to have a choice.
So even in the garden, when things were perfect they had a choice to obey. They had a choice to come to Me. They had a choice to make.
God has always given us a choice and today that choice still stands…
…Even in this season that you’re going in, you’ve got a choice.
I won’t take away your choice.
I will shake up some things around you, but it’s going to be up to you to decide that you want to be with Me or you want to be with the enemy.
There’ll be no more gray area.
There’ll be no more middle ground.
There’ll be no more lukewarm Christians.There will be no more.
Either you’re going to be on My team or you’re not.
Either you’re going to love Me or you’re not.
I’m going to expose those who try to fake it.
You won’t fake it until you make it this time.
You won’t be able to fake it because God says He is exposing those who are, “who are leading My people astray”, who are doing every reproachable thing that they can do and then “trying to serve Me in public.”
It’s choice time. It’s a time in the body of Christ, where God is saying:
I’m coming to invade. I’m coming to permeate the atmosphere around you, but I’m giving you a choice. I’m giving you the choice to be the light I’ve called you to be.
There are many great things in store for the body of Christ. There are many things God is preparing to release unto His bride. God will forever love His church, but He is asking you to make a conscious choice and an intentional decision to follow Him. God is asking you to choose Him, all of Him. To choose Life and the complete source of life.
It’s time to tune out the world and to follow God. It’s time to decide you want Him more than anything else and accept that He’s crazy about you. That He wants to spend time with you. That He wants to have a relationship with you and that He just wants to love you. God also needs you to be in His Presence so that He can speak to you. God wants you to encounter His Spirit as a person and not as an “it” so that you can actually become friends with Him. This season is calling for you to tune your ear keenly to the voice of the Holy Spirit. You can’t base your decisions on what you will see in the days ahead because the enemy is good at showing us a lot of things. You will need to be able to hear what God is saying or you’re going to be deceived.
This is not the time to falter, nor is it the time to fall prey to deception. In this season, God is going to make His warnings very clear. For some, they will be through dreams, others visions, and even through people that are sent to speak to you. [See more on responding to warning dreams here]. In this season your failings will really cost you something. There will be blessings and consequences; you have the choice to choose which side you will be on and what you will receive. God isn’t going to make you do anything, as it was in the Garden of Eden with Adam and Eve, it remains with you…you have the power to make the choice. Recognize the warnings when they come and heed them.
You need discernment. You need clarity. You can’t afford not to know His voice in this season. Know that during this time things are going to change drastically. Our Christianity, our approach to God, has taken such a passive pursuit because we’ve become so comfortable. This has made us lackluster lights. We no longer have the zeal, the fervor, or a desire for the things of God. Our mentality is, “as long as we have our comforts we’re okay.” If you always have comfort you’ll never know God as your provider. If you always have everything, you’ll never have to seek Him. God is taking some things away, in order to reveal Himself to us and to remove the idols we’ve erected in our hearts.
This is a time where strong prophets are going to be revealed, strong prophets with His heart that will align the church with Him and push His bride back into His presence. There will be shifts. There will be some shaking, but in the shaking, if you will allow it, God is repositioning you.
God is resetting you.
God is restoring and recommissioning you to move forward.
During this time, you are being set back on the rightful path to achieve your purpose and access your destiny.
God is setting you back into place.
Do not allow the enemy to trick you into missing it or to shut down your progress with fear.
Make a choice to choose God. Daily, allow Him to transfer His Spirit into you. As this happens you will decrease and He will show forth mightily to the world!

I am so humbled by this word. The Lord has been showing me the idols that have seeped into the worship and practice of individuals and the church as a whole. I have been very frustrated with the mainstream evangelical prophets and their focus as it is grounded in what appears to me to be control through the use of idolatry. None of what they are saying right now resonates with me, but what you wrote here resonates to the core of my spirit. Thank you.

Grace & Peace to you! I can imagine that’s frustrating. Many of the prophetic words released this year were about God purifying His prophets and the church as a whole (please see “Purity is On the Heart of God” and Lana Vawser’s “Prophets of Purity Arise”). Often what we see can cause us to become hardened, so it can feel like an external and internal battle at the same time. *smiles* At any rate, God has to do the work and He will, He already is…
“Son of man, these leaders have set up idols in their hearts. They have embraced things that will make them fall into sin. Why should I listen to their requests?

May the Lord, remove the idols of men’s hearts and purify them in the process. In Jesus Name.
