Sometime in February 2016, I heard “we’re in the 11th hour.” One of the symbolic meanings for the number 11 is transition. To be honest I didn’t give much thought to this or what I heard but ended up in a mini study on transitions.

At this time, our church was asked to corporately read the Biblical books of Joshua and James.

The book of Joshua opens with a commission. God deputized Joshua in place of Moses and his first assignment was to take the vagabond nation of Israel on their final trek into the Promised Land.

What fascinated me the most in this story was the road they traveled to get there, in fact, it was no road at all. You see Joshua took Israel directly through the Jordan River on dry ground (Joshua 3). This reminded me of two related events:

  • Israel’s exodus from slavery in Egypt (Exodus 14).
  • Elijah’s ascension into heaven and Elisha taking on of his role/abilities (2 Kings 2).

All three of these occurrences involved passing through water on dry land. From this, we can conclude that one thing water represents is transition.

When God spoke to me and said we’re in the 11th hour He was primarily announcing a time of major realignments. Please be mindful that what I’m sharing isn’t all inclusive of what God is doing, it’s only piece of the puzzle (1 Corinthians 13:9-12).

During the 2016 Super Bowl Halftime show, I saw several signs foreshadowing God’s now plans, two of which were REFORM and a CHANGING OF THE GUARDSimage

What is reformation? It’s the process of reform and the purpose of reform is to refine. Simply put reformation identifies faulty strategies and seeks to improve them with correction. (Check out this practical guide on reformation  God’s Reformation Plan Includes You by Diane Lake)

This isn’t new information. Many prophetic voices have been announcing approaching shifts and alignments, but now we are witnessing it unfold more rapidly and with more impact!

Sometime in Spring 2014, I began to pray against the “muzzling or policing of the Holy Spirit.” Our adversary is preemptive. He waits in anticipation always seeking to devour and attempting to stop the advancement of the church. NOTE: This present-day release of teaching, support, and edification surrounding the gifts of the Holy Spirit is not without exception. Satan knows just how powerful the church is when we cooperate in unity with the Spirit and each other! We need the Holy Spirit and each other!

The Mystery of the Prophetic

Since this burden in prayer, I have continued to witness an emphasis on the mystery of the prophetic. For instance, in the latter part of 2014, John Eckhardt launched the God inspired #ProphetArise movement through a series of Facebook posts and eventually the book Prophet Arise. This brought a multitude of prophets out of hiding, but as with any believer, prophets aren’t meant to work alone. They have the capacity to work most effectively in partnership with apostles.

On Friday, March 25th thoughts of two Periscope broadcasts flashed before me,  Endure to Elevation and Chasing Rabbits 🐰🐰🐰. In both, I grazed over the same subject but gave varying perspectives.

Both videos highlighted a major realignment in ancient Israel’s government spearheaded by Samuel the prophet. In one video I mentioned this “changing of the guards” ushering in a period of prophets, while the other honed in on a reign of kings.

As these thoughts were going through my head, I heard “it’s of Prophets and Kings.”

I love how God always seeks to reveal Himself and share present day insights with us. I mean who are we that God gives a single thought to us (Psalm 8:4)??? Yet in all of man’s fickleness, He still wants us to know more, have more and in turn give more (Matthew 10:8b).

God is always revealing more to me, from my writings, dreams, things I read, including scripture, and other channels of revelation. imageFor example, God is still unlocking a dream I had on 7-25-2014!

In my dream, my spiritual leader placed a spear in my hand that I initially couldn’t see. This year, in March 2016, the dream returned to my memory with this insight: “your authority is under her.” God doesn’t mean anyone gives me power, but my submission to my pastor’s leadership is key to unlocking His authority in my life.

Revelation Fixation

Sometimes we get stuck on what we know or what we’ve seen. To be more exact we suffer from “Revelation Fixation”. This term was coined by James Goll from His book The Seer The Prophetic Power of Visions, Dreams and Open Heavens. It’s considered a danger to the prophetic seer realm.

According to James Goll revelation fixation happens when we become so impressed with what we see that we stop looking and when we stop looking it hinders understanding. In humility, always allow yourself to be open to further disclosure, this promotes a continuous flow of understanding and helps to keep you abreast to what God is doing.

Revelation fixation is a danger to all forms of revelation. A teachable and inquisitive spirit helps us to avoid this.

Hearing “it’s of prophets and kings” I realized my previous recordings were just a tip of the iceberg and God desired to share more.

God said of Prophets and Kings, but what does that even mean? I Immediately thought of the TV show Of Kings and Prophets, which I’ve never seen and has been canceled. This show, regardless of how short-lived it was, was a prophetic sign of what God desires to see for His church. Part of His desire is to see the open partnership of apostles and prophets.

Okay so how do we go from kings to apostles? The function of kings and apostles are actually quite similar. Kings govern people and regions. Apostles govern too and build, but their work is not of themselves, they are wired to build and advance God’s kingdom. Apostolically functioning ministries and leaders equip their congregants to go forward in purpose!

Prophets are like construction workers; they tear down to build. Prophets expose the ambition of man to align us to the purpose of God. Prophets encourage, provide direction and reveal God’s heart to man through building, encouraging and comforting (Jeremiah 1:101 Cor. 14:3).

Like any member in the body of Christ, prophets and apostles function most effectively in partnership with one another.

I’d like to add this isn’t about a title of prophet or apostle, this is about people who are least concerned with titles and most concerned with God receiving the highest recognition. There are many established leaders in the church, that openly operate in one of the Five Ascension Gifts (Ephesians 4:11), while there are others who function under the authority of God in that role and without the title. Neither is greater than the other and all are equally as effective as long as God’s purpose remains the principle theme (I recently dreamed about people building their own kingdoms, read more in Power – A Temptation Common to Man). image
In When Heaven Invades Earth, I wrote about modern-day apostles and the church. Now I add this, in this time of transition, prophets and apostles will grow increasingly visible, collaborating and aligning all to the will of God.

We are living in very exciting times! As unity continues to unfold more and more among fellow believers, the walls of denominational and racial divides will continue to crumble. As we individually embrace a none of me/more of God attitude, the church will be magnified and the Glory of the Lord will display for all to see.

Remember you were born for such a time as this…so get up, get out & do something for Him! *Smiles*

Grace & Peace!
