Not Everyone Will Support You
Please stop focusing on when the people you want to support you don’t.
Please stop keeping count on how many people show up for you.
Please STOP focusing on when people don’t support you, period.
The fixation can lead to an unhealthy obsession, damage morale, and block relationships that should be happening. 🚧
Is the Lack of Support Really Real or an Illusion?
Ever heard of ‘Frequency Illusion’ — I’m sure you have. It’s when what you’ve been thinking about keeps popping up smack dab in your face.
✨ But surprise! ✨
❌ It does NOT automatically mean whatever you’re thinking about is occurring as much as you think. (The lack of support ‘feeling’ could be phony.)
✔️ It does mean that your brain has taken notice of what’s important to you and is highlighting it. (Congratulations. Your brain is doing its job. Ahahaha.)
Here’s an example:
Ever bought a new car, and all of a sudden everybody has that SAME car?
Same color and everything?
Yep, that’s what I’m talking about.
It works with negative thoughts too.
Now that you’re more aware of this, give your brain something better to focus on.
You Don’t Need Their Support
Regardless of how real the support is or not — it feels real to you and focusing on it is not helping.
So make a commitment to yourself to try really hard NOT to focus on negative stuff — like who is NOT supporting you.
Don’t Let It Change You
Besides, you don’t need everybody’s support.
Here’s the pep talk you didn’t ask for but will get today.
No more focusing on who isn’t showing up to support you.
It’s taking your time, energy, and focus away from the people that support you, need you, and will honor what you carry.
It’s draining your joy.
It’s stopping moments that could be happening.
You have too many community-pivoting ideas and life-changing things to achieve to let feeling unsupported slow you down again.
