Last summer, I had a dream that I believe has a right now encouragement for many believers in the body of Christ and a prophetic message from God for His universal church. Here’s the dream:

My husband and I went out to eat with a few people from our church. We arrived at the restaurant, only to find out that we weren’t welcome to sit at the same table with them. A great sadness quickly overcame me, but not for long. At the next table, a group of people we did not know invited my husband and me to sit with them. As we were seated, I smiled but only partially because I still felt uncomfortable about what had just happened. After a while, I became content enough to relax and eat in the presence of our new friends. After eating we went home and this is where my dream ends.

God is raising up families across states, nations, and countries. When you’re not welcome among your own, you will find yourself being welcomed by strangers, this includes people from different cultures but more broadly people from different places (geographically). These people may not be from the same place as you, the same city you’re in, the same region as yours, or even the same nation, but they are meant for you. Both the internet and social media are making these cross culture and cross nation families increasingly possible.

So here’s your encouragement! Your families are awaiting your arrival. They are waiting to hear your voice and will accept you with open arms. Once you connect with them, looking past the sting of previous relationships and past rejections, it will be as if you’ve known them all of your life.

So remember, when you are not accepted among your own family, there is always someone somewhere you haven’t met that is waiting to meet you. So, you can’t quit and don’t stop pursuing healthy relationships because of how you may have been treated before. Never give up, there is family among you.
