I quit using my prophetic voice online
Something was off
Yikes! I have a confession to make.
I stopped using my prophetic voice online, and I felt so guilty.
Okay, have you ever had a moment where you knew you should speak up but chose to stay silent instead? Things feel okay at first, but then you feel guilty. That’s how I felt about not using my prophetic voice online.
I’ll tell you why I did it later in this blog. 🤔
First, let me paint a picture of why I felt guilty.
For some reason, this topic reminds me of the story in Acts 16:16-18 about a girl who followed two men around like a shadow. The girl followed them around for days. Saying they were ‘servants of the Most High God.’ And that they announced ‘the way of salvation’ (Acts 16:17).
Nothing wrong with that. Right? 🙄
The two men were pretty EXTRAORDINARY people.
One was Paul. An apostle. The other was Silas. A prophet. (Acts 15:32).
They were servants of the Most High God. And they did announce Jesus as the way to salvation.
Could this girl help them? Maybe even boost their credibility? NOPE.
Actually, there was something off with what she did.
Do you want to know what?
The girl had a spirit that gave her supernatural abilities. She’d make predictions, and people paid for them. But the spirit with the girl was NOT the Spirit of God.
The girl’s spirit did NOT lead people to Jesus.
The girl was NOT helping Paul and Silas.
She was lowkey invading their space and distracting their audience.
That’s when it hit me — HARD.
The dangers of silencing your prophetic voice online
My personal story
Do you know what I realized? When I stopped using my prophetic voice online, I let people take my space online.
Let me explain this space thing…
God gave me a space to shine, thrive, and influence others. ✨
But some people were stealing it right from under me. 😡
Because I was NOT there. 😮💨 I didn’t speak up. 🤐 I didn’t post online.
And for what reason?
To be honest, it’s something semi-selfish (which is totally against my core values)…
Opportunists want to hijack the space
But I’ll tell you. I felt people were hijacking the space.
People that didn’t have the wherewithal to be there.
People who were opportunists or didn’t have a genuine passion or gift for what they were doing.
🚩They were using their fake personas or marketing tricks to confuse people.
🚩They were spreading lies and chaos instead of truth and peace.
🚩They were taking advantage of people’s curiosity and weakness instead of helping them grow and heal.
Do you see why this matters to you?
😶 Sometimes, when we don’t use our prophetic voice online, we allow others to hijack our space.
That means our absence makes it easier for opportunists. And our silence creates space for people who just want to do their own thing —including advance their own agendas and interests— even if it hurts people.
Beyond words: Let God show himself online through you

If you think using your prophetic voice online means mindlessly copying and pasting Bible verses 🙄 on your social media profiles, think again. And if you believe it’s putting on a ‘preacher voice’ or trying to be someone you’re not, think again. 🙄🙄
Using your prophetic voice online is NOT about condemning others or ONLY calling out others either (Read Conviction VS Condemnation and Meditate on Philippians 1:15-18).
QUICK SIDEBAR ON CALLING OUT OTHERS ———No God-given mission exists to exclusively call others out.
Using your prophetic voice online is about something far more powerful and authentic…and it’s within your reach. YAY!
But maybe you’re thinking, ‘I don’t have a prophetic voice. I’m not good with words. I can’t say what God wants me to say. How can I show God to others?’
Well, let me tell you something.
Using your prophetic voice online is less about words and more about action.
It’s less about speaking God’s truth and more about letting the expression of God’s truth flow through you and everything you do. Let me say it another way, using your prophetic voice online is more about letting God show Himself through you and everything you do.
That means you don’t have to use only words.
Because your prophetic voice is an expression that goes BEYOND WORDS.
Think about it. God doesn’t ONLY use words to talk to you.

🎶 AS A MUSICIAN, you can create melodies that touch people’s hearts and fill the air with peace, joy, and love.
📝 AS A WRITER, you can use your words to guide people through life’s ups and downs and show them the way to hope and healing.
🍎 AS A TEACHER OR EDUCATOR, you can inspire, inform, and ignite minds with wisdom, discovery, and revelation.
⚖️ AS A LAWYER, you can defend, advocate, and protect so that justice rolls down like water and righteousness like an ever-flowing stream.
🛠️ AS AN ENGINEER, you can dream up and bring to life a better future for all.
🩺 AS A MEDICAL OR MENTAL HEALTH PROFESSIONAL, you can use your compassion to care for others and bring healing to their bodies and souls.
💻 IN TECHNOLOGY, you can innovate to make life easier, happier, safer, and more meaningful.
💡AS AN ENTREPRENEUR, you can use your imagination to create something that benefits you and also others.
📈 AS A MARKETER, you can show others how to persuade with integrity, because persuasion without integrity is manipulation.
🎨 AS AN ARTIST OR CONTENT CREATOR, you can help people talk a break from their experiences and uplift their spirits or improve their outlook on life.
MY POINT:
Whatever your profession or passion, you can INFUSE your prophetic voice into it and make a MORE positive impact on the world. YOU AGREE? It’s time to step out and use it to change lives, inspire others, and make an overwhelming difference.
DON’T LET SELF-DOUBT OR FEAR HOLD YOU BACK. The world needs your unique way of expressing God’s heart, mind, and nature!
How to spot an opportunist trying to hijack space in your niche
You’ve probably seen a few of them.
► They COPY your content, style, or ideas without giving you credit or adding value.
► They USE spammy or unethical tactics to get more traffic, followers, or sales.
► They TRASH-TALK you or others in your niche to make themselves look better.
► They UNDERCUT with low-quality offers and services or make unrealistic promises.
► They JUMP into your comments to shamelessly self-promote and make offers to your audience.
Take a moment to think. Have you seen ANY of these things happening in real life or online?
Here’s the thing: these are only a few signs that an opportunist is trying to hijack your space.
You may discover more signs.
No matter what sign you see, know that it all circles back to this:
An opportunist doesn’t want partnership or collaboration.
You have a WORD for the world
And it’s not just words.
Remember, you have a word for the world.
It’s your gift. It’s your calling. It’s your prophetic voice.
Though this isn’t always the case———sometimes people see the good you’re doing (or could do) and run behind you to hijack your space.
🚩They don’t have a gift for the space.
🚩But they don’t want to work with people that do.
🚩They see attention and influence in a niche as their opportunity to hijack.
🚩Because they want to use your platform for their own agenda or profit.
🚩They want to take credit for things they can’t do, so they copy.
Those people don’t have MAIN CHARACTER ENERGY.
So please don’t budge. (Meditate on 1 Corinthians 15:58)
I know it’s discouraging to work hard to carve out a space or niche for yourself, then have someone rush in and hijack the space.
But please don’t let this distract you from your calling.
Don’t let them do that.
Occupy your space.
Don’t move. Dominate it.

In a world full of trouble, let grace abound.
Even when people attempt to hijack your space, let grace abound. You’ll thrive in that space, using your prophetic voice, aka an expression of God, through your gifts, skills, and abilities.

Grace is the supernatural power and favor of God.
It uplifts.
It tears down.
It calls and beckons.
It transforms people, places, positions, and power.
Grace is in your voice.
Grace is in your words.
Grace is in your story.
