I attended a Christian church from as early as I can remember, but I didn’t hear the pure, unadulterated gospel of Christ until I was about 19 years old. The day I heard this [HIS] story was the day the guillotine dropped severing the cord to the life that was slowly killing me (See Love in Bloom for more on this).
Dr. Matthew Stevenson III recently started “The God Man Series,” after observing many pulpits being given over to politics. Instead of grieving God with this rhetoric or complaint laced prayers, he chose to be the thing he desired to see.
He made a personal commitment to God to preach Jesus and upon following through with his commitment, his church experienced an immediate explosion of the gifts of the Spirit. By starving the distractions and putting the spotlight back on Christ, miracles manifested, uncannily accurate prophecy was released, salvation came, deliverance occurred, believers were filled with the Holy Spirit, and an overwhelming 30 + joined the church.
TAKE THE CHALLENGE.
- Take a Religion & Knowledge Detox. Set aside your intellect and ask God to reveal Jesus to you. Make “knowing” Christ your daily pursuit.
- Preach and Flow in Demonstration. When you preach, make it an obligation to pursue the manifest Presence of God.
- Study With God. Invite the Holy Spirit to read the Bible with you and into your study time.
