why do you keep looking back?

You keep looking back when I want you to look around. I want you to see that I created you for this moment. And that this place that you are in hasn’t caught me by surprise. Being present in your moments help you to realize who you are and who I am. So stop looking to the past for answers, there is nothing there for you. I am your future. I am your security. I am your Peace. I will not let you go. Look around and see Me. See that I am present. Realize I am with you and that I love you. Know that I will never let you go. Don’t look back.

As Israel transitioned from bondage to liberty, the uncertainty they faced caused them to look back. As they reflected on what they were leaving behind, even though it was trash compared to their future with me, they preferred it more than what I promised them. Which was a life that was better than they could have imagined.

Yes, shifting seasons can be tough, but I am tougher. Look around, not back. Now can you see me? I am surrounding you, so bask in this moment. You will see my promises. You were made for them. You were made for life, not worry. Do not give any more of your day to fear or anxiety, even if it seems like innocent planning. Look around, not back, and see me —–> Your Father, God.

Note: When facing adversity, change, and transitions, it sometimes makes you want to draw back or retreat. Don’t. Here’s why. Retreating and inconsistency show you need a bit more maturity for where God is taking you, which only delays your process.

meditation verses

Jesus responded, “Why do you keep looking backward to your past and have second thoughts about following me? When you turn back you are useless to God’s kingdom realm.”

Luke 9:62 The Passion Translation

As Pharaoh approached, the Israelites looked up, and there were the Egyptians, marching after them. They were terrified and cried out to the Lord. They said to Moses, “Was it because there were no graves in Egypt that you brought us to the desert to die? What have you done to us by bringing us out of Egypt? Didn’t we say to you in Egypt, ‘Leave us alone; let us serve the Egyptians’? It would have been better for us to serve the Egyptians than to die in the desert!” Moses answered the people, “Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the Lord will bring you today. The Egyptians you see today you will never see again. The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.”
