CLEANING IS MY THING

Truthfully, dirt is my weakness. If Samson’s strength was attached to his hair, mine is connected to my environment. I don’t thrive well in messy places. It’s something about the way a clean space looks and smells. I’m smiling while writing this, thinking about the peace the scent of clean brings me. Seriously, I ‘spring clean’ like every season — spring, summer, fall, and winter! 🤦🏽‍♀️ It makes me feel good. 

But back to this. Getting organized at home, at work, and for work just helps me be my best overall. 

It also helps me to see what I have. Have you ever cleaned up and found something you lost? I know I have. Or have you ever cleaned up and found something you didn’t need anymore? Yep, I’ve done that too. All in all, cleaning up and clearing things away is good for everything and everybody. Ask my family. They like me a lot better when our living space is clean. *smiles*

NESTING WITHOUT A REAL BABY

Lately, my days have been full of physical and digital cleanups. And I can’t help but think and compare these purges to nesting. If you’re not familiar with the word, nesting describes what a soon-to-be mother does to make room for her baby. Let me explain more. During the last trimester of my first pregnancy, I cleaned everything. I was a cleaning machine. I mean, I was cleaning outside the house — inside the house. I painted. I planned. I prepared for my baby. I made room for what was coming by cleaning up and clearing out the things around me. 

This week, I believe I was reminded of this because I’m finding myself in the same place — nesting. Without the physical baby, of course. And I’m sharing this with you because you may be here too — physically, mentally, or spiritually. Now, if you are, then you’ll really connect with what I’m about to say.
