The climb to success reveals your circle
I often find myself in awe at how many people who told you “they’d always be there for you” fade into the background and become violently silent in seasons of intense pressure.
I know we often say to choose our circle wisely because “everyone can’t go with you,” but I’m learning that you don’t really have to do the choosing. It’s done for you as you climb.
🗻🗻 As you go up, those who are too afraid to divorce dysfunction in the same way that you have will weed themselves out by choosing allegiance to Pharaohic systems over “covenant” connections [1].
🗻🗻 As you go up, those who claimed to be called to what you were building will realize the cost of doing something new is more than they’d budgeted for, and choose comfortability.
🗻🗻 As you go up, those who once agreed with your assessments of injustice and lack of integrity will move to a place of indecision and accommodation for fear of not being able to see where they will go after being freed from said bondage.
To the builders, deliverers, and pioneers:
Everyone isn’t equipped to fight the war you were born for. Some are brainwashed and constructed to remain casualties of it. Wish them well and continue to build.
A note from the editor.
- Pharaohic systems are oppressive and repressive structures. They can exist anywhere including within networks, organizations, and relationships. In contrast, covenant connections are divinely inspired relationships reflecting and echoing God’s covenant with man.
