I thrive when I make plans, stick with them, and work ahead of my schedule.
Now if you’re like me, you know how comforting planning and preparation can be.
But this month, being more spontaneous is calling.
Being spontaneous is like taking a sudden break from a routine or going with the flow instead of sticking to a strict plan.
That means—choose to welcome the unfamiliar, unforced, unprompted, and unplanned.
Because this can open up new paths to creativity, opportunity, and momentum.
Let’s talk about being more spontaneous at work.
It’s easy to fall into a routine anywhere, but especially at work.
In my opinion, work is the worst place to fall into a routine.
Why? Because so much of your job is beyond your control.
So, I challenge you to break out.
Maybe that’s attending a workshop, talking to a stranger in the hallway, or volunteering for a project that challenges you.
You just might meet someone who can elevate your career or share some insider knowledge.
Let’s talk about sacred moments with family.
Routines for families can create sacred moments that last a lifetime. But sometimes, you need to mix things up at home.
Plan a surprise day trip, or go for a walk after dinner instead of watching your favorite show.
Try playing games with the little ones in your family.
These small changes can make new memories and help you build stronger bonds with your loved ones.
Let’s talk about online content and social media.
Don’t force anything on social media. If you’re posting about a topic consistently and the response is crickets—stop trying to force it.
Remember: unforced, unprompted, unplanned.
Instead, post about things that bring you joy.
Share more everyday moments and what’s happening around you.
You’ll find a new sense of ease in these places if you welcome more spontaneous moments.

And should you notice some of your plans meeting resistance?
That might be a sign to shift and flow into something spontaneous.
Sound good? Feel free to reply and share how you’re being more spontaneous this month.
I gotta say this before I go, you can be spontaneous and responsible.
Meditate on The Parable of the Shrewd Manager.
The manager in that story had to do something spontaneous and make a sudden shift.
That shift was to unlock favor. See Luke 16:1-13.Talk later!
