In times of great opportunity, it is easy to get entangled in pursuing temporary gain. So here are three points to consider as you venture to pursue new opportunities + endeavors:
• Passion drives your pursuit. Examine the source of your passion and how the opportunity before you can support it. If the source of your passion is contaminated it can poison your pursuits and ultimately bring death to your vision. Avoid opportunities that are contrary to your passion and always make sure your motives are pure.
• Let integrity be your guide. Ill-gotten gain leaves no lasting pleasure. If you forfeit integrity you may win now, but you can be certain you will lose later. Let all of your deeds, actions, and behaviors in public as well as private be measured by God’s standard of integrity.
• Let peace rule in all your decisions. God’s ability to promote you, establish you, and create wealth are there. When you trust Him with your future, you don’t have to resort to merchandising, acting unethically, or adopting cut-throat practices to access them. Just trust [which is to obey] God.
SEEK GOD + NOT OPPORTUNITY
Ancient Israel forfeited promises (aka opportunities) because of their disobedience, which actually stemmed from their lack of trust in God. When you trust God it’s easy to obey Him. When you don’t it’s almost impossible to and what trust you do exhibit will be very limited. Show God you trust Him by obeying Him and seek Him first instead of “opportunity.” In areas where your trust and faith is weak, ask Him to help you with your unbelief.
