What are blueprint builders?
Preface. Blueprint builder, yes I’m talking to you, this message serves to encourage you. Now, before you say this message isn’t for me, consider this, blueprint builders include anyone doing something for the first time without direct guidance, something unfamiliar to them, or something entirely unknown for humankind. Some examples include:
- First-generation families developing healthy relationship patterns
- People embarking on career paths no one in their family has followed
- Or launching a truly one of a kind or disruptive business idea (Examples include Uber, Airbnb, and SalesForce).
The Power and the Curse of Insight
It’s hard to do something when you don’t have all the answers. I get it — I want to know and understand what’s going on like the next person. I want to know why something is happening in my life and why I’ve had to experience certain things because the insight brings me comfort.
Insight does two things. It empowers us (1), making it easier to cope with challenges or at other times, not having any insider knowledge deadens us (2) — stopping us from moving forward, pass the problem, and into our next.
Faith is going, doing, and being when you don’t have all the answers.
I have learned that while the Holy Spirit has access to hidden and ancient wisdom, it isn’t always readily revealed. I’ve also learned that sometimes, the answers I want may never come. At some point, blueprint builder, this will also ring true for you.
You will have to do something and…
- You won’t know why.
- You won’t know what.
- You won’t know how.
And guess what? You’ll need to do it anyway.
This is faith. This is taking risks. This is a part of being a blueprint builder. And ultimately, this is how you create and become a model for others to follow.
The earth is super fertile right now. Meaning there are so many people, organizations, and nations that are ripe with newness, ambition, and ingenuity. Globalization is making the world’s market more competitive. Technology is advancing things at supernatural rates and revamping the future of many jobs. People are bubbling over with creativity. Everyone wants to do something new or release the next big thing, so much so that people infringe at alarming rates. All of these things demonstrate that blueprint builders are essential and they (you) are already here.
Some Inspiration that’s Actionable
So, hats off to you who are doing (1) something for the first time without any direct guidance, (2) something unfamiliar, or (3) something entirely unknown for humankind!
What you’re doing is major, and I’m proud of you for real. I’m especially proud of you for having the courage to do something different. Not only are you positioning yourself for greater, but you’re creating a model for others to follow, and that is super commendable.
Here are three things to help you through the blueprint building process:
Do seek answers, but stop looking for specific answers, aka the model, in everything and in everyone but Jesus. Jesus is the access point to God (John 14:6) and God is able to supply essential insight to you, through His Holy Spirit.
Pray. Ask God for guidance and for the answers you seek. If God responds swiftly, that’s awesome, and if He doesn’t, that’s awesome too. Because at the end of the day, God’s character is solid even when life is not. Be reminded that God’s nature is this: He wants the best for you and always champions for you to reign in every area of your life.
Make a choice. Decide to follow God into the unknown. Let your heart, mind, soul, and strength follow Him when you know why and when you don’t. Over time the pieces will come together, and you’ll overflow with so much joy that the labor pains of being a blueprint builder will no longer matter.

Prayer
Lord, help me to see the perspectives I need to see in the time I need to see them. Grace me with contentment, so I don’t become stuck when I don’t have all the answers. Connect me with people that can encourage, direct, and guide me in places you would have me to go. Father, I will not judge how you decide to help me because you’re the same God that saved Balaam by the mouth of his donkey (Numbers 22:21-39).
#InJesusName Amen!
