the-purpose-of-the-religious-spirit-is-to-prevent-you-from-ever-having-a-clear-view-of-the-glory-of-god-because-if-you-c-4

This teaching confronts the religious spirit, religious error, and legalism not for the purposes of creating “witch hunts” and/or confronting the religious spirit in others, but to confront any traces of the religious spirit in you.

Confronting religion is a necessary groundwork for revival.

Some ways you can identify a religious spirit are as follows:

  • A religious spirit doesn’t suggest change.
  • A religious spirit doesn’t welcome change.
  • A religious spirit is always very external.

One under its influence will be more concerned with religious practices, rules, and behaviors, versus the principles behind them. Often those under its vice are unable to even articulate or explain the purposes behind such activities. This deception causes one to focus on the importance of the practice to the point that it serves as a distraction causing one to lose sight of the valuable principles set to learned from them. The religious spirit leads one to focus on what’s important to man, neglecting what is important to God, nullifying Him even, and defaulting the Most High God to a secondary position. The end result of those in the bondages of a religious spirit remains trapped outside the veil, unable to see, know, and experience God.

The chief reason behind the religious spirit is to prevent you from really seeing and knowing God. This teaching will free you from this form of godliness and help to keep you free from the blindness that veils the hearts of those bound to it.

Let us move from the bondage of being trapped outside the veil and into the glorious presence of God.

After watching this video you should be able to identify pure religion, walk in the liberty of it and continuously abide in the Presence [the transforming power] of God!

PRIMARY SCRIPTURE REFERENCE:

12 Since we have such a [glorious] hope and confident expectation, we speak with great courage, 13 and we are not like Moses, who used to put a veil over his face so that the Israelites would not gaze at the end of the glory which was fading away. 14 But [in fact] their minds were hardened [for they had lost the ability to understand]; for until this very day at the reading of the old covenant the same veil remains unlifted, because it is removed [only] in Christ. 15 But to this day whenever Moses is read, a veil [of blindness] lies over their heart; 16 but whenever a person turns [in repentance and faith] to the Lord, the veil is taken away. 17 Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty [emancipation from bondage, true freedom]. 18 And we all, with unveiled face, continually seeing as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are progressively being transformed into His image from [one degree of] glory to [even more] glory, which comes from the Lord, [who is] the Spirit.
